Once upon a time...
From 1970 - 74 I learned motorcycling with a ADLER MB 250 (two-stroke/ twin)
and later with a NSU-Max 250cc (four-stroke/single) which I later had to sell to finance my first car.
At this time I could not afford a motorcycle and a car.
But I was always a dedicated motorcyclist.
Shortly before my oldest son turned 16 I decided it was time to start
motorcycling again. Since the driving liscence for 16 years old is limited to 125cc
and 80 Km/h we bought a Suzuki GN 125.
After a year with the GN 125 I needed a bigger bike.....
A lucky incident provided me with a 1984 KAWASAKI LTD 440 at a cheap price. After some minor repairs I was quite contended with the the bike and rode it for nearly two years. Then I gave it to my son.
Finally I felt fit enough for the..... BIG HAMMER
The Yamaha Virago XV 1100 (1993) I have now is outstanding in the family of Choppers and Cruisers.
The performance and the torque are really impressive. The handling is superb
for a Chopper/Cruiser even around small corners and the top speed of 185 Km/h is more
then enough for winding roads and straight highways.
Technical Data
Motor:1063cc, 4-Stroke,
After 500 Km on the Virago I´m
absolutely happy.
